The kids love it and for adults, it really gives you a feel of Shaldons history and how the seaside roots are so prevalent today. If you’re popping over to Teignmouth from Shaldon then save yourself the parking hassle - hop on the Ferry!
The Ness Beach is truly a hidden treasure! What makes this beach so special, is when it is a splendid summers day, you can look out and be anywhere in the world. The beach is completely cut off from the world and in its own cove that overlooks the coastline. Not to mention it is a blissful sun trap. A lot of people visit Shaldon and don’t even know The Ness Beach is just behind the famous red cliff. A 5-minute walk from the village centre.
Perhaps the greatest charm to this beach is that it is only accessible via and old smuggling tunnel “Smugglers Tunnel”. There is a fascinating history around the Ness Beach as it was just out of site from mainland and yet right around the corner. It was a hot spot for pirate smuggling!
What would a seaside holiday be without a bit of Pitch and Putt! The Shaldon Pitch and Putt may have the best views in Pitch and Putt history! Located directly next to the coast path you'll have the treasures of playing a round with the stunning panoramic scenery.
This one is definitely for the adults and the keen teens. Teignmouth golf club is located 5 minutes from the town centre and is a fantastic 18-hole course with unbelievable panoramic views looking over the entire of South Devon. We’re certain that if you love a round of golf, this course will be one for the memory books.

The Shaldon Botanical Gardens is a small and tranquil botanical with stunning ocean views. These gardens are perfect for a morning or afternoon walk and ideal for a family picnic away from the business of the village centre. There are information boards all around the garden describing plant species and look out points to enjoy as you walk around the path.
