Shaldon is host to a number of fabulous annual events. These events welcome both people living locally and individuals visiting the beautiful South West.
Shaldon Water Carnival
With the fabulous annual decorated boat parade, beach stalls and games - followed by an evening of entertainment and live music. Money raised from the day is donated to local charities and organisations.
Shaldon Regatta
9 Days of Fun for Everyone – Come and Join in This August
Shaldon Regatta is an annual historic event with over 130 summer events spread over 9 days in the last week of August and ending on the Bank Holiday Monday. This event is perfect for all ages!
Bonfire Night
Come and enjoy the wonderful Shaldon beach firework display. There are food and drinks stalls run by local vendors and a great energy in all of the cosy pubs. It is a free family event. The date each year is determined by the river’s tides, but make sure to make it in time to watch the annual themed performance and lighting of the fire.
Christmas and New Year
On Boxing Day locals and visitors enter the well known three legged race, racing all over the village, stopping for a drink at all the pubs. This is quite a site, with fancy-dress competitions on the day and people of all ages getting involved.
New Years Eve involves putting on your fancy-dress and make your way around the village for a fabulous fun and friendly night out!
