A night at a Shaldon beach hut
The perfect place for your seaside break.
I visited Beach Hut No1 for the first time early January and knew then, that it was going to be a personal battle to leave again. My wife and I had both been to Shaldon in Devon as children and were excited to return.
Shaldon is the perfect location to really ‘get away’, tranquil and stunningly beautiful the small coastal village lived up to our fond memories. With weather as expected in January the Beach Hut No1 is still an ideal place to stay to just unwind in luxury, with estuary and beach views from the toasty confines of your hut. Our first morning in Shaldon consisted of waking up to chatter of birds and whistle of sails. With coffee cups in hand, we walked across our terrace and straight onto the beach, the views of the seascapes, countryside and bobbing boats really are quite outstanding. We chatted with a few local residents out walking their dogs who gave us a few pointers on the best eateries and places for a good local ale. We enjoyed the gentle social buzz of this beautiful village even at this quiet time of year.
We could not have been more pleased with our holiday home for our stay. The whole interior of the Beach Hut was perfectly presented. With an elegant and modern kitchen which had everything you could need! The sleeping area was equally as brilliant with a mezzanine comfy, white linen bed. The glass front wall allows you to admire the view from both your bed and couch which was perfect to relax and enjoy an evening curled up together with a glass of wine. With the glass door out on to the deck and a table and chairs to enjoy an outside meal. We hope to be back again this summer to take full advantage of this properties idyllic beach and riverside location. A truly luxurious stay, perfect for that much needed break.
If you’re planning a trip to stay at Beach Hut No1 then make sure you go and make the most of beautiful Shaldon village and its surrounding area. There are an abundance of restaurants and pubs to try out at and stunning coastal scenery to admire but you may well find it hard just to hard to leave your peaceful and toasty Beach Hut.
